If you can change house, cities, countries, then why not change the food you eat?

Everyday, we set off to earn money for ourselves. Don’t we take responsibility for that? Yet, we blame our fitness trainer or dietician if we cannot achieve our fitness goals. Alternatively, we blame the lack of time or stress factors for the unhealthy state of our body, but we never blame ourselves or take responsibility for our body and health.

Nita Bhasin

This body is ours and is going to stay with us for the rest of our life. Let’s, therefore, pledge to take care of it. We can change houses, localities, cities, countries.jobs, professions, and clothes, then why not our bodies?

Understand the importance of this most precious trophy.

You know that the strongest part of the house or building is its foundation.

In the same way, it’s important for the body to have a very strong foundation and to build that, we should have a very strong immunity system.

Coughs, colds, skin conditions, ear infections, allergies, asthma, and headaches, thyroid, and BP are getting very common these days. Through the year, you will find a large number of people suffering from allergies that manifest as throat and respiratory ailments.

Let me give you the example of living in a flat. There, you will notice several lines of defenses to ensure the safety of your family and yourself. You have a strong gate, manned by several guards and chowkidars. These days, most gated communities even have an app that alerts you about any visitor to your house. In addition, you have security cameras where you can see who is entering. Finally, you have both a steel door and a wooden door to your flat. You take the utmost care of your house to protect it from outsiders.

What about your body’s defense system? Is it not common sense to upgrade your body’s defense system, as the most common reasons for any illness, is low immunity? We all know that all we need is common sense, and yet we don’t take charge. Instead, we depend on medicines to take care of us. We have no time to even think about ourselves or to worry about why certain things are happening to us, time and again. We take it for granted that it’s all right to suffer, even telling ourselves that it is age-related, and so it is normal. (Ye to hota hi hai!) Or is it that we just don’t care?

The main reasons for our ill-health which ultimately contributes to our low immunity is lack of:

Exercise

Adequate rest

Nutrition

Disciplined eating habits

It is further compounded by several other things such as:

Error in our thinking patterns

Hereditary or genetic causes and autoimmune diseases

Shift duties

A bad attitude

Stress of any kind at work, and in relationships and finances also leads to low immunity. It’s great fun to be stress-free and it’s all within our reach because we have choices that we can make each moment. As in school, we change classes, so also in life, we must educate ourselves on different subjects. It is important to re-educate ourselves on the needs of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body, depending on our age and lifestyle.

Reiki practitioners speak out this small affirmation daily. It works as an effective defense mechanism for the body and mind.

Just for today, I will not be angry.

Just for today, I will not worry.

Just for today, I will love and respect.

Just for today, I will say, ‘Thank you’.

These are some suggestions you can do:

You can write these on a sheet of paper and put it up in your room where you can see it first thing the moment you wake up every morning and the last thing just when you are going to sleep. You can also sing it loudly; you can make your own tune. You will find the results amazing and you will find that it keeps stress away.

Additionally, on your bedroom door, hang up a poster that reads:

Stress-Free Zone

On your kitchen door, you can write:

Worry-Free Zone

This will also ensure that whatever food is cooked in the kitchen is infused with high vibrational energies.

In the dining hall, where the family gathers for a meal, hang up a placard that says:

Anger-Free Zone

You are free to imagine where you would like to write:

Thank You Zone

We are not born with an inbuilt instructional manual. That’s why, we have to use our common sense.

Ultimately, the most valuable medicine is prayers and a good attitude.
