Each one of us thinks at least 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts per day! And often, we repeat the same thoughts day after day

You will agree that’s a lot of thoughts. And for most people, over 90 per cent of the thoughts that we think today are the same as what we were thinking yesterday. In this way, the brain becomes wired towards the expectation of whatever it is happened yesterday. Whatever has happened today, well, that’s going to happen tomorrow.

When the neurons in the brain fire together, they wire together. Then we have a shape of consciousness and cognition going on that our brain uses as a default setting. So, if your default setting is ‘life’s boring, nothing great ever happens to me,’ or, ‘I never get ahead’ or ‘People are difficult’, then, perhaps, you need to read this. If that’s the kind of thing that you’ve experienced in the past and if that’s what you’ve been thinking in the past, then you will think it in the future, as well.

You’re thinking 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day and 90 per cent, at least, are the same as the past.

There’s a sense in which your brain is actually an artefact. It’s a recording device or a memory bank of all the experiences you’ve had. If you’d like to have different experiences in your future, then it’s going to be necessary to think differently because our thinking then sets in motion a field of energy and a different way of seeing the world around us where different possibilities can start to emerge.

Rewiring the brain is a very important part of entering into the kind of life that we might want to have. I know at various times in my life, particularly when I’ve had to change my self-perception, I’ve noticed that I actually doubt myself a lot, I don’t really believe in myself all that much, and I’ve noticed that I’ve needed to do conscious positive thinking about who I am, in order to get over this speed hump in my life.

It seems like nothing’s happening, nothing’s happening, and then all of a sudden, things are different. It’s worked for me on a number of occasions and now there’s neuroscience to back it up.

If you want a different life, thinking differently is an essential part of the recipe for getting you to a different place in society, in creation, in your own life.
